Summer Circuit Begins as College Season Winds Down
The 2025 college baseball season concluded last week, and Vanderbilt’s roster is now scattered across a network of summer leagues. While some players opted to remain on campus for coursework and training, the majority are heading to professional‑style circuits to showcase their skills before the next NCAA campaign.
USA Baseball Camp and Taiwan Championship
Three Commodores — Brodie Johnston, Ryker Waite and Aiden Stillman — earned invitations to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp. The camp’s final roster will travel to Taiwan to contest the World Collegiate Baseball Championship, giving the trio a chance to represent the United States on an international stage.
Beyond the national team, a deeper pool of Commodores will compete in the Cape Cod League, the premier summer showcase for college talent. Returning players such as Ryker Waite, Rustan Rigdon and Tyler Baird are slated for the Bourne Braves, while newcomers Tommy Goodin, Brodie Johnston and Connor Hamilton will suit up for the Y‑D Red Sox. Additional Commodores have found homes with the Chatham Anglers, Brewster Whitecaps, Newport Gulls and other league affiliates.
Fresh Faces in New Leagues
The distribution extends beyond New England. Carson Quillen, Cade Sears and Aukai Kea will play for the Lakeshore Chinooks in the Northwoods League, and Collin Brightwell is headed to the Waterloo Bucks. Incoming freshmen Gunner Skelton and Michael Holt will begin their college careers with the Johnson City Doughboys in the Appalachian League, while Jameson Napper joins the Kingsport Axemen.
The Vanderbilt baseball program has indicated that the list will be refined as rosters and statistics become finalized, and the story will be updated accordingly.
