Vanderbilt Stars Earn Spots in USA Baseball’s 2026 National Team Camp

Johnston, Stillman and Waite will compete for a place on the squad bound for the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan this July

Three Vanderbilt Commodores — Brodie Johnston, Aiden Stillman and Ryker Waite — have been selected for the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, a gateway to the sport’s first World Collegiate Baseball Championship slated for July in Taiwan.

Johnston, who anchored the Commodores’ infield at third base, posted a .333 batting average, launched 15 home runs and drove in 47 runs, while his defensive metrics placed him among the nation’s top ten at his position.

Stillman’s season was interrupted by a mid‑year injury, yet he returned to finish with a 3‑2 record and 21 strikeouts, underscoring his resilience and promise as a pitcher.

Waite emerged as a breakout talent, batting .305 and contributing 23 extra‑base hits while earning recognition as one of the country’s elite defenders, a combination that has drawn considerable attention from scouts.

A milestone for collegiate baseball

The training camp, organized by USA Baseball in partnership with Vanderbilt University, will serve as the final evaluation stage before the team departs for Taiwan, where the inaugural championship will bring together the nation’s top collegiate talent on an international stage.

If selected, the trio would mark a rare convergence of offensive power and defensive excellence for Vanderbilt, highlighting the program’s growing influence on the national collegiate scene.
