Vanderbilt Stars Headline 2026 MLB Draft Combine in Phoenix

Braden Holcomb and Colin Barczi join top prospects as high school talent gets spotlight

The 2026 MLB Draft combine will descend on Phoenix, Arizona, from June 23 to 25, bringing together the nation’s most promising prospects under one roof.

Among the invitees are Vanderbilt right‑hander Braden Holcomb and catcher Colin Barczi, both of whom earned the nod after standout collegiate seasons.

Holcomb started every one of Vanderbilt’s 58 games last year, batting .352 and driving in 54 runs while hitting 14 homers, a combination of contact and power that caught scouts’ eyes.

Barczi appeared in 31 games, posting a .263 average, collecting 31 hits, adding 28 RBIs and 11 home runs, and recording 33 putouts behind the plate.

A Talent Flood from the Volunteer State

The combine will also feature a contingent of Tennessee high school standouts, including Bo Holloway, Gunner Skelton, Wyatt Clatur, Jack Dugan and Jack Beck, who will test themselves against the country’s best.

Adding to the state’s representation, former Nolensville star Ethan McElvain, now a pitcher at Arkansas, earned an invitation, underscoring the depth of talent emerging from the region.

Scouts and analysts alike are watching the event as a litmus test for the upcoming draft, with the performances in Phoenix likely to shape early‑round projections.
