The Vashon Island Pirates clinched the 1A Boys WIAA State Soccer Championship on Saturday, defeating Meridian 3-0 in a match that showcased both offensive precision and defensive solidity.
Mason Haynes was the catalyst, striking twice in the opening half to put the Pirates ahead early, while Ryland Knodt sealed the outcome with a well‑placed finish in the 50th minute.
Cedar Park Christian, the other finalist, took third place with a 3-0 victory over Wahluke, thanks to a brace from Beckham Mischel and a goal from Petros Tselios in the 54th minute.
