A Season of Excellence
The Vicksburg Daily News has released its 2025‑2026 All‑County Girls’ Soccer Team, a prestigious roster that captures the brightest talents from across the region. The announcement celebrates not only individual brilliance but also the growing competitiveness of high school soccer in Mississippi.
Amari Johnson of Vicksburg High School leads the offensive charge after a season that saw her net 21 goals and add five assists. Her impact mirrors the performances of Jordan Polk from Warren Central, who shattered expectations with 41 goals and 12 assists, and Emily Godshaw, also from Warren Central, who earned VDN’s 2x Player of the Year honors after scoring three goals and guiding her squad with leadership.
On the defensive side, Dallas West was recognized as both Top Defender and Female Athlete of the Year, underscoring the balance of skill and tenacity across the team. Her contributions helped anchor a backline that consistently limited opponents.
Porter’s Chapel Academy showcased a deep well of talent, with goalkeeper Harmony Harris making 96 saves throughout the season. Teammates Ansley Conway, Marley Busby, Raedon Busby and others contributed crucial goals and assists, forming a dynamic attacking trio that kept the team competitive in every match.
Warren Central’s roster was a powerhouse of talent, featuring Lanie Bull, who earned District MVP after scoring 19 goals and providing six assists, and Addi Mullen, who tallied 13 goals and 19 assists. Brooke Steed added 16 goals, while Allie Mason contributed 11 goals and nine assists, forming a potent offensive core.
St. Aloysius also made a strong showing, with Mary Ruth Montgomery, Frances Ferrell, LaniMarie Thurman, Lynlee McMillin and Taryn Lusby earning spots on the All MAIS Team and All‑Star selections. Lusby was named Team Captain and MVP, scoring two goals and dishing out an assist while leading the squad both on and off the field.
The recognition extended beyond individual stats, as several players received invitations to prestigious all‑star games, including the Central Mississippi All‑Star Game and the MAIS All‑Star Team. These honors reflect the depth of talent across the county and promise an exciting future for the sport.
