The Vermont American Legion baseball banquet in Fair Haven gathered players, coaches and families to recognize the season’s standout performances, with Riley McDade and Milo Tucker named players of the year in their respective divisions.
Northern Division Player of the Year
Riley McDade of Champlain Valley posted a .585 batting average, adding three doubles, two triples, two home runs and 20 RBIs over the summer. Though his team finished 7‑11 and missed the state tournament, Coach Casey Martinez praised the senior’s offensive consistency and announced his commitment to continue his career at Husson University in Maine.
Southern Division Player of the Year
Milo Tucker of Ludlow Post 36 anchored a 14‑5 season that secured the top seed in the South. His contributions helped the squad open tournament play with a 1‑1 record as of July 27, positioning the team for a deep run in the double‑elimination format.

As the event approaches its final day, organizers emphasize the blend of local pride and future opportunities for the highlighted players, underscoring the tournament’s role in showcasing the next generation of Vermont talent.
