A Strategic Build‑Out for the Green FC Inaugural Season
Vermont Green FC, the newly founded franchise set to compete in the USL W League, unveiled the full complement of personnel who will shape its debut campaign.
Head Coach Abby Carchio, who has been steering the club’s tactical vision since the program’s inception, announced a blend of experienced assistants and support staff designed to give the team a competitive edge.
Caitlyn Fogel, a veteran of the Nordic Soccer Club where she serves as Director of Operations and recently earned Vermont Soccer Coaches Association Large School Coach of the Year honors, will join the staff as an assistant coach.
Rory Twomey, currently an assistant with the University of Vermont men’s soccer program, brings collegiate playing and coaching experience to the Green FC bench.
Edgar Vargas, a former standout goalkeeper for both the University of Vermont and San Diego State, adds shot‑stopping expertise and a deep understanding of the college game.
Kat Paradis, who works for the University of Vermont primarily with the swim and dive teams, has been appointed the club’s athletic trainer, overseeing player health and rehabilitation.
In addition, Dr. J.P. Begly, a recognized sports medicine specialist, will volunteer his expertise to support both the men’s and women’s squads across the university system.
The roster of affiliations also includes partnerships with institutions such as Saint Michael’s College, The College of Saint Rose, Saint Lawrence University, Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, and several health networks, underscoring a broad academic and medical collaboration.
These appointments reflect a deliberate effort to blend local talent, academic connections, and professional experience as the club prepares for its first competitive season.
