A New Chapter for the Catamounts
The University of Vermont men’s soccer program has released its 16‑game schedule for the 2026 regular season, a slate that blends a strong home presence with a challenging road circuit. Nine of the contests will be played at Virtue Field, beginning with a four‑match homestand that opens on August 20 against George Mason.
That opening series marks the first meeting between the Catamounts and the Patriots since 1988, setting a nostalgic tone for the campaign. Vermont will then travel to face opponents representing three different conferences – the Patriot League, the Coastal Athletic Association and the Ivy League – before returning home for the bulk of its matches.
Looking Ahead
The non‑conference portion of the schedule culminates with a home clash against UMass Amherst on September 29, after which the regular season will finish on the road against UMass Lowell on November 3.
Adding to the excitement, the Catamounts enter the schedule on an eight‑game unbeaten streak over the Riverhawks, a momentum‑building run that fans hope will carry into the new year.
The coaching staff has emphasized that depth and tactical flexibility will be crucial as the team navigates a varied conference landscape, with the goal of extending the unbeaten streak and delivering strong home performances.
