A dispute that started as a heated argument over a basketball game at Pollock Pool in Oshkosh quickly turned violent, prompting a swift police response.
Officers from the Oshkosh Police Department were dispatched to the Taft Avenue facility early Saturday afternoon after reports of a fight involving adults and juveniles.
In the wake of the confrontation, six individuals received citations for disorderly conduct, while several faced more serious accusations including child abuse and felony bail jumping.
Among those charged, a 53‑year‑old woman and a 21‑year‑old man were accused of physical abuse of a child, and a 17‑year‑old female from Oshkosh was charged with both felony bail jumping and child abuse.
The incident did not end at the pool; it moved to a residence near East Melvin Avenue and North Main Street, where a 20‑year‑old woman discharged a firearm, leading to additional charges of endangering safety with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm as a felon.
