The University of Virginia’s men’s basketball program has announced the addition of forward Kalu Anya, a transfer from Saint Louis University, ahead of the upcoming season.
Anya arrives with a solid rebounding pedigree, having averaged 6.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last year, and he led his former team in boards while ranking third in the Atlantic 10 for rebounds per game.
His collegiate journey began at Brown University, where as a freshman he posted 8.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, and in his sophomore season he improved to 9.6 points and 7.4 rebounds, underscoring steady development.
A Strategic Boost for the Cavaliers
The coaching staff sees Anya’s versatility as a key ingredient in reshaping the frontcourt, especially after the program secured three additional transfers: guard Jurian Dixon from UC Irvine, guard Christian Harmon from Arkansas State University and four‑star center Favour Ibe.
With these new pieces in place, Virginia aims to translate its strengthened depth into competitive performances, targeting higher conference standings and a postseason berth.
