The Virginia Hurricanes Girls Basketball program is gearing up to open tryouts for its 3rd and 5th Grade teams, offering a competitive yet supportive environment for young athletes ahead of the Fall and Winter seasons.
Tryout Schedule and Registration Details
3rd Grade participants will gather on Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 AM to noon at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Virginia, where they will be evaluated on fundamental skills and game sense.
The 5th Grade tryout follows later that same day, running from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, providing an opportunity for slightly older players to showcase their abilities.
Parents and players must complete mandatory registration through the program’s official website at virginiahurricanes.net/basketball/aau-teams, a step required before any on‑court evaluation can take place.
The Hurricanes emphasize holistic development, aiming to nurture confident players both on the court and in the classroom, and coaches advise participants to arrive early and bring water to stay hydrated during the sessions.
