Virginia Tech’s 2027 football recruiting class has swelled to 26 commitments after nine new signees were added in June, positioning the Hokies among the nation’s most promising hauls.
The surge adds depth at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, areas where the coaching staff has long sought stability, and it sets the stage for a potentially competitive season ahead.
Key commitments
Among the newcomers, four‑star quarterback Peter Bourque headlines the class, ranking No. 75 nationally according to 247Sports, while Cam Wade brings additional firepower at the same position. Wide receiver Anthony Roberts from North Carolina and Kentucky’s Cam Wade also pledged to the Hokies, and Roanoke native Demarcus Brown chose Virginia Tech over several other suitors.
The class also includes three tight ends — Jordan Karhoff, Sam Faniel and Braxton Salster — and three four‑star offensive linemen: Junior Saunders, Kaden Buchanan and Dylan Latell, giving the team a solid foundation on both sides of the ball.
Coaches remain open to adding one more defensive lineman, either at end or tackle, and may still address a need at linebacker or safety, but the current roster already meets many of the positional goals set at the start of the cycle.
Analysts expect the 2027 group to crack the top 20 nationally, a testament to coach Franklin’s recruiting momentum and the program’s growing appeal among elite prospects.
