A new soccer hub has opened its gates in the Gulfton district of Houston, bringing two professionally‑graded mini pitches to the neighborhood.
The venue, part of Visa’s Street Soccer Park initiative, is freely accessible to residents and is being overseen by Houston reVision, a nonprofit that works with at‑risk youth across the city.
Programs and opportunities
Beyond the fields, the park will host a calendar of clinics, tournaments and coaching sessions, while also offering referee training programs aimed at building local expertise.
Charles Rotramel, chief executive of Houston reVision, emphasized that the facility is unlike anything else in Houston, noting its potential to reshape opportunities for the community’s youngsters.
The design of the pitches draws on a specific footprint from Germany, blending international best practices with a local focus. ABC13’s Localish team recently toured the site, capturing the early buzz and the smiles of participants.
