2026 PrepXtra Boys Soccer Honors
Vitor Robazza of Grace Christian was crowned the 2026 PrepXtra Boys Soccer Player of the Year, capping a senior season in which he topped the Knoxville area with 35 goals and added 25 assists. His dynamic play helped the Crusaders secure their second consecutive state championship, a milestone that underscores the program’s recent dominance.
While four Knoxville‑area squads contested the TSSAA title matches, only Grace Christian emerged victorious, edging Notre Dame 3‑1 in the final. The championship game highlighted the team’s depth and resilience, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a hotbed for high‑school soccer talent.
The season also spotlighted a host of other standout athletes. Freddy Castro from Sevier County posted 32 goals and 15 assists, earning District 2‑3A player of the year honors. Roger Oseguera Cruz of South‑Doyle contributed 28 goals and 12 assists, while Vincenzo Barbosa, another Grace Christian forward, finished with 18 goals and 19 assists.
Midfield creativity shone through Fadel Hamdan of Bearden, who recorded 10 assists and six goals, and Kevin Pendergrass of Halls, who logged 21 goals and 12 assists. Colby Stokely of CAK reached the century mark in career goals, and Aydan Slover of Halls played a pivotal role in preserving six team shutouts.
Defensive excellence was recognized as well. Eli Keener of Bearden set a school record with 15 shutouts in 25 appearances, while Lincoln Unger from Farragut earned District 4 and Region 2 honors. Daniel Jackson of Oak Ridge was voted co‑defensive player of the year in District 3‑3A.
The coaching staff received accolades too, with Isaac Brooks of Grace Christian named Coach of the Year after guiding his team to another championship triumph. Together, these performances illustrate a vibrant soccer landscape across the region, blending offensive firepower with disciplined defense.
