Virginia Military Institute’s men’s soccer program is preparing for the fall season with the arrival of nine new athletes, a move that promises to inject fresh energy and varied skill sets into the Keydets' lineup. The coaching staff has highlighted the group’s blend of technical ability, tactical awareness and competitive drive as a key factor in the team’s outlook.
A mosaic of talent
Among the newcomers, midfielder Lennox Moua brings a strong work ethic from Woodbury, Minnesota, where he was named 2026 MVP and made his professional debut with MNUFC2. Defender Giacomo Bustamante, hailing from Tamuning, Guam, arrives after earning 2026 Athlete of the Year honors and guiding his club to an island‑wide championship. Forward Jaden Moore from Raleigh, North Carolina, adds a prolific scoring record from his Mid‑Atlantic All‑Conference recognition and three consecutive league titles with his club program.
The defensive lineup also welcomes Michael Dipita of Frederick, Maryland, a second‑team All‑County selection who previously competed in the West Virginia MLS NEXT circuit, and Alejandro Fuentes‑Ramos, a goalkeeper from Woodbridge, Virginia, who earned first‑team All‑Region and All‑District accolades while training at SYC. Midfielder Aiden Glod, a four‑year starter at Hickory High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, contributes extensive experience after leading his squad to two regional finals.
Attacking options are bolstered by Harrison Efford, a forward from Richmond, Virginia, who amassed four varsity letters and helped his team reach four straight VISSA playoff appearances, as well as Gavin Team, a defender from Gordonsville, Virginia, who balanced eight varsity letters in golf and soccer before playing for FC Richmond MLS NEXT. Completing the class, Jaime Loya from Waynesboro, Virginia, brings three All‑District and All‑Region selections and club experience with Augusta United.
Collectively, these athletes represent a wide geographic footprint across the United States, from the Midwest to the East Coast, and each brings a unique competitive background that the coaching staff believes will deepen the roster’s flexibility.
