SEC Media Days Set for July 20 in Tampa
The Southeastern Conference will convene its annual media days on July 20 in Tampa, Florida, bringing together coaches, players and administrators from across the league. The gathering will be broadcast nationally on SEC Network and streamed live on the ESPN app and SEC Network+, offering fans a first look at the upcoming football season.
Representing the University of Tennessee, head coach Josh Heupel will be joined by players DeSean Bishop, Arion Carter and Jeremiah Telander. The Volunteers will use the platform to discuss expectations for the 2026 campaign, highlight key returning starters and answer questions from media representatives.
Season Opener Against Furman
The Vols' schedule opens on September 5 with a home game against Furman at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. The matchup marks the beginning of a new chapter for the program as it looks to build on the momentum generated by last season's performances.
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is slated to deliver opening remarks at 9:05 a.m., setting the tone for a day filled with interviews, press conferences and strategic discussions among member institutions.
Other conference schools will also take the stage throughout the morning and afternoon, with Oklahoma's contingent speaking at 10:05 a.m., Missouri's at 11:25 a.m., Kentucky's at 1:30 p.m. and Tennessee's own session scheduled for 2:55 p.m. The coordinated lineup underscores the league's emphasis on transparency and fan engagement.
