Wade Richardson Takes the Helm of Baseball Operations
Kennesaw State University announced this week that Wade Richardson has been elevated to director of baseball operations, succeeding Terence Norman who is now serving as associate director of development for KSU Athletics. The move comes after a two‑year stint as a graduate assistant and reflects the university’s confidence in Richardson’s blend of playing experience and administrative growth.
A native of Powder Springs, Georgia, Richardson wore the Owls uniform from 2023 to 2024, appearing in 54 games with 37 starts. He finished his playing career with a .268 batting average, a 15.4 percent walk rate and a reputation for solid defensive work that helped the 2026 squad post the program’s highest fielding percentage ever at .972.
Beyond the diamond, Richardson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2024 and is on track for a master’s in public administration by 2026. His early career at Columbia State Community College gave him a foundation in player development that he now brings to the Owls program.
In his new role, Richardson will oversee all facets of baseball operations, from recruiting and compliance to logistics and player development. Athletic director Ryan Coe praised the promotion, noting that Richardson’s deep connection to the university and his proven leadership make him the ideal candidate to steer the program forward.
A Forward‑Looking Vision
The promotion signals a strategic shift for Kennesaw State baseball, which has seen steady growth in recent seasons. By entrusting Richardson with the program’s operational backbone, the university hopes to sustain momentum, enhance facilities, and deepen community engagement. The move also underscores the institution’s commitment to promoting from within, rewarding loyalty and proven performance.
