Wallace’s Take on the All-Star Race
Bubba Wallace has voiced his disappointment with the upcoming NASCAR All-Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway, saying the event feels more like a standard Cup Series weekend than the marquee spectacle fans have come to expect.
While he enjoys the historic track and counts it among his personal favorites, Wallace says the new format — featuring two 75‑lap stages and a final 200‑lap segment — has stripped away some of the ceremony that once defined the race.
A Fresh Competitive Edge
NASCAR has introduced a new competition package and a resin application for the Dover weekend, aiming to increase grip and excitement. Wallace earned his spot in the All-Star field through his 2025 Cup Series victory, giving him a direct entry into the $1 million prize event.
Despite the changes, Wallace remains hopeful that the racing will be competitive and that the new elements will add a layer of strategy that could revive the event’s special feel.
The driver also reflected on a recent incident at Watkins Glen International, where contact from John Hunter Nemechek ended what he believed could have been a strong result. A conversation with teammate Christopher Bell helped clear the air before the All-Star weekend began.
