Former collegiate standouts Mason Walters and Boden Skunberg are set to host a two‑day youth basketball camp in Jamestown, North Dakota, this July. The pair, who share a history from high school through college and professional stints abroad, are using the event to give back to the community that shaped them.
A Summer of Growth
The camp will take place at Jamestown High School on July 22‑23, with a fee of $115 per participant that covers a custom T‑shirt, a series of competitions and intensive skill‑development sessions. Open to both boys and girls, the program promises a mix of drills, games and mentorship aimed at sharpening fundamentals while fostering camaraderie.
Walters, a University of Jamestown alumnus who later pursued professional basketball in Finland and Switzerland after an NBA pre‑draft evaluation, and Skunberg, a North Dakota State graduate who also played at Illinois State, will draw on their own journeys to illustrate pathways for aspiring athletes. Their shared desire to mentor the next generation reflects a deep‑rooted commitment to the region that nurtured their talent.
Participants will travel from across the state and beyond, with sign‑ups already confirmed from Fargo, Jamestown, and the Medina‑Pingree‑Buchanan area. The curriculum emphasizes not only technical improvement but also the building of relationships between families, coaches and the broader basketball community.
