Warren Central Celebrates 2025 Football State Title with Custom Championship Rings

A $50,000 fundraising campaign funded rings that blend tradition, teamwork and faith.

Warren Central High School gathered its community last weekend to honor the 2025 football team that captured the state championship, a triumph that ended a 31‑year title drought. The ceremony featured a presentation of championship rings that were funded by a $50,000 fundraising effort.

A Symbol of Unity and Faith

The rings, crafted from white gold and set with red rubies, bear the team's interlocking “WC” logo on one side and the words “State Champions” on the other. Each player's name and number appear on a side panel, while the reverse showcases the team's 12‑2 record and miniature images of the three historic trophies from 1988, 1994 and 2025.

Inside the bands, the inscription reads “11 Brothers” and a verse from Colossians 3:23, reminding the athletes of the biblical call to work heartily for the Lord.

Coach Josh Morgan, who guided the squad through a rocky start that included a season‑opening loss to Clinton, said the rings serve as a tangible link to the school's proud tradition. “They connect every player to the generations that have worn the same colors,” he explained.

The Vikings opened the season with a defeat but rallied to win nine consecutive games, finishing the year at 12‑2 and securing the first state title in more than three decades. Senior linebacker Corey Wilson was among those who lifted the trophy, his name now etched alongside the legends of the program.

Beyond the hardware, the ceremony underscored a cultural shift within the locker room, where camaraderie and shared purpose replaced early doubts. The team's motto, “11 Brothers,” now resonates not only as a slogan but as a lived commitment that will guide future seasons.
