Warren Central’s girls soccer program has become a fixture in the Mississippi high school sports spotlight, reaching the MHSAA Class 6A semifinals for three straight years and capturing three consecutive Region 2‑6A titles.
A Program on the Rise
Under the steady guidance of Coach Jeremy Lawrence, the Lady Vikes posted a 62‑28‑2 record over five seasons, a milestone that includes their first playoff victory since 2005 and a narrow loss to the eventual state champions Saltillo.
Lawrence, a Warren Central alumnus, has been named The Vicksburg Post’s Coach of the Year for Warren County three years in a row, and he shares the 2024 and 2025 Coach of the Year honor with boys’ coach Greg Head.
He credits the team’s success to the players’ dedication and the relentless support of assistant coach Charlsie Godshaw, who together emphasize mastering the fundamentals of the game.
Only three starters will graduate, while five of this season’s eleven starters are sophomores, and even seventh‑graders are trying out, signaling a deep well of talent ready to step up.
The program’s recent form includes a 48‑19‑2 record since the 2023 realignment, and the coaching staff remains focused on building a sustainable future for the Lady Vikes.
