A Season of Growth
The Washington baseball team capped a remarkable turnaround, finishing the season at 9-16 and securing third place in the Southeast Conference with a 9-6 record — the program’s strongest showing since 2019.
That mark represents a doubling of the win total from the previous year, underscoring the rapid progress made by a squad that has begun to attract attention across the conference.
Standout Performances
Blayze Richardson led the way, earning first-team honors after batting .311 over 18 games with a .507 on-base percentage. He added 14 hits, including a double, a triple and two more extra-base hits, while driving in 18 runs. On the mound, Richardson logged 23 innings with a 1.52 ERA and 22 strikeouts, showcasing his two-way impact.
Ethan Peebler matched the accolade with a first-team selection, posting a team-leading .356 average and a .495 OBP. He collected 26 hits, three doubles, four triples, 10 RBIs and 13 stolen bases, and contributed 41 innings of pitching that yielded a 3.76 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
Isaac Medrano received second-team recognition after hitting .327 with 18 hits — 11 singles, three doubles, two triples and two home runs — and leading the team with 19 RBIs. He also pitched 17 innings, striking out 14 batters.
Ty Wright and Kyler Williams rounded out the honorees with honorable mentions. Wright batted .295, notching 23 hits, 15 singles, seven doubles and 15 RBIs, while Williams posted a .269 average, a .459 OBP, 11 RBIs and 15 walks.
The collective performances have set a promising foundation for future seasons, suggesting that the program’s upward trajectory could continue well beyond this year’s 9-16 record.
