A Strategic Addition
Washington Huskies coach Danny Sprinkle has put the finishing touches on his 2026‑27 roster by committing Bosnian forward Harun Zrno, a 6‑foot‑7 guard who spent last season with Rutgers.
Zrno arrives after a year in which he started 15 games for the Scarlet Knights, averaging 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 35.6 % from the field and 33.8 % from three‑point range. His best performance came on the road against Wisconsin, where he poured in a season‑high 21 points and hit five treys.
The Huskies have struggled with health setbacks in recent seasons, often finding themselves short‑handed and unable to field a full lineup. The addition of Zrno, together with a wave of transfers and international prospects, is expected to provide the depth needed to navigate a grueling schedule.
A Deepening Roster
Beyond Zrno, the program boasts a diverse mix of talent, including Tristan Devers, Parker Friedrichsen, Steele Venters, Ryan Beasley, Wesley Yates III, Brandon Roy Jr., LeJuan Watts, Nikola Dzepina, Mady Traore, Boris Tišma and Wini Braga. The international contingent also features Lathan Sommerville, Jasir Rencher, Desmond Claude, Jacob Ognacevic and Christian Nitu, each bringing a different skill set to the court.
Coach Sprinkle, who has faced speculation about his job security, hopes the new pieces will translate into a more stable and competitive campaign. The roster’s blend of Big Ten experience and overseas pedigree gives the team a fresh identity as it looks to climb the conference standings.
