Washington State University’s football team took to the Rogers Practice Fields on Thursday for a two‑hour preseason workout, the first of several sessions planned before the squad ramps up for the upcoming season.
The drill work saw defensive lineman Jirah Leaupepetele, running back Maxwell Woods and other roster hopefuls line up in full pads, executing a series of conditioning and technique exercises under the watchful eye of assistants.
Defensive tackles coach Eti Ena and assistant head coach and running backs coach Justin Green were also on the field, guiding the participants and offering real‑time feedback.
After the session, several of the participants, including Leaupepetele, Woods and Green, joined a brief interview segment where they discussed their readiness and expectations for the coming weeks.
A strong start to the campaign
Coaching staff confirmed that the same group will reconvene on Friday to continue the training regimen, signaling the start of a structured buildup toward the first game.
