A new look for the Cougars' home field
Washington State University is repositioning the home sideline of its football team to the south side of Gesa Field, placing visiting squads directly in front of the student section. Athletic director Jon Haarlow said the adjustment is intended to amplify the game‑day atmosphere and give the Cougars a clearer edge between the stands.
The relocation places the visiting bench directly adjacent to the student crowd, a move designed to create a stronger home‑field advantage by energizing the audience that now sits just behind the opposition.
Enhanced fan experience
New turf, a high‑definition video board and a network of LED lights are being installed throughout the venue, aiming to modernize the stadium and provide a more engaging environment for spectators.
Season‑ticket holders can adjust their seats by contacting the ticket office, ensuring they can adapt to the revised layout while still enjoying optimal views.
In addition, pieces of the former playing surface are being offered as collectibles through a partnership with 'The Realest', with each fragment showcasing portions of the crimson end zones and the midfield Cougar head logo.
International swimmers set to compete
Alumni Emily Lundgren will represent Team USA in the breaststroke and individual medley at the FISU America games in Lima, Peru, while rising junior Darcy Revitt is slated to compete for Team England in the 400‑metre freestyle relay, scheduled for early morning today.
