Washington University in St. Louis has announced that its women's soccer team has been awarded the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025‑26 academic year, recognizing the highest grade‑point average among all Division I women's soccer programs.
The Bears posted a cumulative GPA of 3.84, the top mark in the nation, and were bestowed the 'Scholar‑Champion' title in acknowledgment of their combined athletic and academic excellence.

Beyond the classroom, the squad captured the 2025 National Championship, cementing its status as a powerhouse on the field while maintaining a perfect academic record.
The team entered the season ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, a testament to the program's sustained competitiveness and the university's commitment to developing well‑rounded student‑athletes.
Support for the program comes in part from the W Club, which provides unrestricted funding from alumni, parents and friends to enhance student‑athlete experiences and foster departmental growth.
