Webb City’s football program is entering the 2026 season with a sense of momentum that coach Ryan McFarland describes as “building on something special.” After back‑to‑back 13‑win campaigns, the Cardinals are eager to translate that success into another winning year, and the coach says the senior class is the engine driving that expectation.
A Veteran Offensive Line
At the heart of the offense are seniors Louden Bolinger and Kayle Chrismon, both three‑year starters on the line who have collected multiple all‑state honors. Joining them are Caleb Meinershagen, Grayson Gannaway and Wesley Watkins, who provide depth and versatility, while Konner Hood, Gunner Eads and Truett Boulware add further experience to the unit.
Dynamic Backfield Options
Junior Drake Claborn will again patrol the backfield, having posted 182 yards and three touchdowns last season. Known for his strength and speed, he is expected to shoulder a larger role as the team’s primary rusher. Another senior, Barek Hoffman, is making the switch from safety to running back. Coaches praise his scoring instincts and physicality, noting that his presence could add a new dimension to the offense.
Quarterback Transition
At quarterback, Mason Young steps into the starting role after two years as a defensive standout. The three‑sport athlete’s transition brings a fresh perspective and a willingness to learn from the sidelines.
Defensive Front Focus
Defensively, the line will lean on size and strength, with returning players River Lenker and Ethan Keller anchoring the unit. The rotation also features Malachi Njoroge, Brayton Robinson, Paxten Parish and several other juniors eager to make an impact.
Schedule and Early Tests
The schedule opens with a jamboree and a road test at Glendale before home matchups against Waynesville, Nixa, Carthage and Neosho. Each of those opponents presents a different challenge, but the coaching staff believes the early slate will sharpen the team for conference play.
Offseason Conditioning
Offseason work has been intense, with an emphasis on conditioning and nutrition to address the lack of size on the defensive front. The players have embraced a regimen that aims to make them bigger, faster and more resilient.
Defensive Line Leaders
Leadership on the defensive line will be provided by seniors Cooper Tingle and junior Ayden Wiles, while a deep rotation that includes Cooper Ray, Brylan Terry, Joaquin Escoto, Lucas Waggoner, Remington Harpole, Brayden McMullen and Judah Ackerman will keep the pressure fresh.
