Preseason Anticipation
The Big Sky Conference unveiled its preseason coaches' poll, positioning Weber State as the clear favorite. The Wildcats earned five first-place votes and accumulated 74 points, signaling strong expectations for the upcoming season.
Northern Arizona’s standout midfielder Micala Boex captured the Preseason MVP award. Her impressive performances across goals, assists, points and shots last year placed her among the conference’s top five offensive threats, earning her the league’s top individual honor.
Weber State’s recent Freshman of the Year, Lauren Butorac, secured a spot on the Preseason All-Conference Team. Her emergence adds depth to a roster that already boasts championship experience.
Defender Isabella Sackett joins Butorac on the All-Conference list, rounding out a defensive lineup that helped the Wildcats clinch the previous title. Their inclusion underscores the team’s balance of talent on both ends of the field.
The 2026 Big Sky Soccer Championship is slated for November 11-15 in Missoula, Montana, where the top six programs will compete for the title. The tournament will serve as the culmination of a season that officially kicks off on August 12, featuring six participating teams.
Beyond the headline names, the All-Conference squad also features Georgia Whitehead, Lexi Tuite, Jocelyn Wright, Sara Rodgers, Bre Koscielski, Lily Blum, Oakley Anderson, Iris Mattern, Izzy Thoma and Lucie Rokos, rounding out a competitive field that promises intense matches.
