West Virginia Sports Writers Honor 45 Top High School Baseball Players

All‑state selections across four classifications highlight standout performances

Statewide Honors Celebrate Baseball Excellence

The West Virginia Sports Writers Association has announced its annual all‑state baseball teams, recognizing 45 outstanding high school players across four classifications.

Selection committees evaluated performance throughout the season and named awardees to first, second or honorable‑mention status, underscoring the depth of talent in high school baseball across the Mountain State.

In Class A, Greater Beckley standouts Paul Fox and Eli Gunter earned first‑team all‑state honors, while Carter Hajaash and Ky’rece Hughes were placed on the second team. Additional mentions went to Hunter Austin and Isiah Lewis, also from Greater Beckley.

Class AA saw James Monroe’s Kaydn Hines, Independence’ Micah Cuthbert, Brady Williams and Miken Smyth selected to the first team, while Degan Williams, Chase Shea and Colton Jones received second‑team accolades, with several other players earning honorable mentions.

The highest classification, AAA, featured Shady Spring’s Tyler Wilhite and Sam Barnett, along with PikeView’s Landon Wyatt on the first team. Second‑team honors went to Trenton Tolliver, Cutter Boggs and Brody Combs, also from PikeView and Shady Spring, while a host of other athletes received honorable mentions.

In Class AAA A, Woodrow Wilson’s Gage Prince was named to the second team, and Oak Hill and Woodrow Wilson alumni Beau Elswick, Hunter Elswick, Owen Grose, Will Farrish and Drew Gallaher were listed among the honorable mentions.

Additional honorees recognized for their contributions included Turner Addiar, Robey Brown, Andrew Coalson, Tristan Lykins, Chance Moore, Jaeden Lester, Talan Muscari, Carson Koen, Parker Hodges, Charlie Hawks, Kolten Eades, Landon Bolen, Ladon Crane, Nelson Lynch, Noah Fox and Colyn Smith, each earning honorable‑mention status, as well as Landon Doss, Jacob Lewis, Hunter Muncy and Tyler Stevenson.
