A historic return to the Atlantis stage
The University of West Virginia’s women’s basketball program is set to compete in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas, facing two of the nation’s most respected programs in an early‑season showcase.
The Mountaineers will meet Florida on November 24 at 3:30 p.m., a game that will be streamed on ESPN+, before taking on Notre Dame two days later at 11:30 a.m. ET on ESPN2.
Florida enters the event under first‑year head coach Tammi Reiss, who brings a roster bolstered by All‑American transfer Kiyomi McMiller and Atlantic 10 Sixth Woman of the Year Vanessa Harris.
Notre Dame brings a standout guard in Hannah Hidalgo, the 2026 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, who has made history as the first ACC player to win both Player and Defensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons.
The matchup against Notre Dame revives a Big East rivalry that ended in 2012, a series in which West Virginia holds a 3‑19 record, with their most recent meeting dating back to 2001.
Battle 4 Atlantis remains one of college basketball’s premier early‑season tournaments, offering the Mountaineers a rigorous test against elite competition as they begin their campaign.
