The Westminster baseball squad capped a remarkable season with a 28-12 record, earning the No. 1 seed in the PAC Championship Tournament before falling in the playoffs to top-ranked opponents.
Honors on the Diamond and in the Classroom
Five standout players were named to the Academic All-District team, a testament to their ability to excel both athletically and academically. Their recognitions reflect a blend of high cumulative GPAs and impressive on-field statistics that helped shape the team’s identity.
Jon Albers, a pitcher with a 3.53 cumulative GPA and a 4.65 ERA across ten appearances, earned his first All-District nod. Nate Demchak, who started 32 games and led the club with a .306 average, posted a 3.66 GPA and was honored for the first time. Parker Lyons, a third-baseman maintaining a 3.65 GPA, started 31 games and hit .280, marking his second consecutive All-District selection.
Quinn Marquis and Tom Rook added their names to the list for the second and first time respectively. Marquis, a .288 career hitter with two home runs, posted a 3.85 GPA, while Rook combined a 3.98 GPA with a .338 batting average and an 11-game hitting streak. Each of them also contributed multiple multi-hit games, underscoring their consistency at the plate.
Beyond the All-District accolades, the players have been repeatedly celebrated on the Dean's List and the PAC Academic Honor Roll, reflecting sustained scholarly achievement. Their academic records span multiple semesters, with Marquis earning Dean's List honors five times and Demchak appearing four times.
The team’s competitive run ended against No. 6 Chatham and No. 5 Grove City, but the season remains one of the most successful in program history, matching the single-season wins record and showcasing a culture where athletic ambition and academic rigor reinforce each other.
