Whitney Day to Celebrate Olympic Gold Medalists at Saratoga
Saratoga Race Course will open its gates on August 8 for Whitney Day, a special showcase that brings together the community and the nation’s top women’s hockey talent. The event marks a unique intersection of Olympic triumph and thoroughbred racing, offering fans a rare opportunity to celebrate gold‑medal achievements on the historic track.
The day will feature a one‑hour fan meet‑and‑greet from 3 to 4 p.m., giving supporters a chance to meet Olympic gold medalists Haley Winn and Hayley Scamurra, as well as USA Hockey General Manager Katie Million. The trio will share stories from the recent Games and engage with attendees in a relaxed setting before the races begin.
In addition to the meet‑and‑greet, a stakes race will be named in honor of the 2026 U.S. Women’s Hockey Olympic Gold Medal winning team, adding a commemorative element to the card. This race will highlight the athletes’ impact beyond the rink and serve as a tribute to their dedication and teamwork.
Admission gates open at 10 a.m., with the first post scheduled for 11:45 a.m. General admission is priced at $15 when purchased in advance or $20 on the day of the event, making the celebration accessible to a wide audience of racing enthusiasts and hockey fans alike.
