WIAA Unveils Basketball Division and Sectional Assignments
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) has released the upcoming winter season's basketball division and sectional pairings for both boys' and girls' teams, outlining how schools across the state will be grouped for competition.
The divisions span five classes, each broken into sectional brackets that determine regional matchups. In Division 1, Sectional 1, traditional powerhouses such as Appleton North, Appleton West, Bay Port, Chippewa Falls and De Pere will contend.
Division 2, Sectional 1 features teams like Antigo, Lakeland, Marshfield and Medford, while Division 3, Sectional 2A includes Amherst, Bonduel, Clintonville and Green Bay East. Similar groupings exist for the remaining sections, offering a clear picture of the competitive landscape.
The girls' bracket follows an analogous structure, with comparable divisions and sectional assignments that mirror the boys' format, ensuring balanced competition across the state.
