2026 All-Metro Softball Team Announced
The Wichita Eagle has unveiled its All-Metro softball team for the 2026 spring season, spotlighting the region’s most dominant players and coaches from Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey counties.
The selections were compiled from all-league and all-state recognitions, coach input and statistical performance, ensuring that only the most impactful contributors made the cut.
At the center of the accolades stands Keira Stripling of Bishop Carroll, who was crowned the All-Metro Player of the Year after guiding the Golden Eagles to a 28‑win campaign and a Class 5A state championship.
Stripling’s leadership was complemented by a strong supporting cast, including Breckyn Baxter of Goddard, who earned AV‑CTL Division II Pitcher of the Year, and Addi Gutzmer of Derby, named Division I Pitcher of the Year.
Other notable awardees include Alexis Butler and Lilly Clements from Campus, each earning first‑team all‑league honors in Division I, and Lila Collins from Maize, also a first‑team selection.
The list extends to Payton Converse of Andover Central, who was honored as a first‑team pitcher and outfielder, and Madison Cross of Trinity, recognized in the Central Plains League.
Additional standouts such as Savannah Gering of Maize South, Karlie Demel of Derby and Allyson Orth of Bishop Carroll rounded out the first‑team all‑league choices across the region.
The article also highlights coaching excellence, noting Steve Harshberger of Bishop Carroll, who led his team back to the top of the 5A classification.
With a total of 20 players and coaches receiving recognition, the All-Metro team reflects the depth of talent across the Wichita metro area and sets a high bar for the upcoming season.
