The National Wheelchair Basketball Association has named Wichita, Kansas, as the host city for the 2027 National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championships, bringing the prestigious tournament back to the city after a four‑year hiatus.
The championship games will be played from March 16 through March 20, 2027, at Newman University, a private institution that will serve as the event’s primary venue.

In addition to wheelchair basketball, the city is slated to host the 2027 National Beep Baseball Association World Series, expanding the scope of adaptive competition in the region. Wichita will also serve as the venue for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship Opening Round in both 2027 and 2028, further cementing its reputation as a key stop on the college sports calendar.
