The Wildcat Baseball League in Fort Wayne is gearing up for its 65th season, a milestone that brings together generations of young athletes and their families.
Registration for the upcoming season will take place on May 23 and May 30, giving children between six and fifteen the chance to sign up before the June 30 deadline.
The program runs for seven weeks, beginning on June 1, and is organized into four age‑based divisions – the Kitten division for six‑ to eight‑year‑olds, the Kitty division for nine‑ and ten‑year‑olds, the Kat division for eleven‑ and twelve‑year‑olds, and the Tiger division for thirteen‑ to fifteen‑year‑olds. Each team will meet three times a week for practice or games.
Participation is free, though families are asked to bring their own glove and contribute a modest $10 toward a cap and shirt, a small ask that helps keep the league accessible to all.
A community tradition returns
The league’s annual Mr. Mac Day, a celebration of its founder, will be held at Kreager Park on July 10, offering a festive backdrop as the season reaches its midpoint.
The schedule wraps up on July 17, marking the end of a summer filled with baseball, camaraderie, and local tradition.
