Indiana University’s field hockey program announced a notable addition to its coaching staff this week, as head coach Kayla Bashore confirmed the return of Will Holt to the role of associate head coach.
Holt previously served as an assistant coach for the Hoosiers during the 2020‑21 season, and his brief stint laid the groundwork for a deeper partnership that the program now seeks to expand.
His playing résumé includes 147 appearances for the U.S. Men’s National Team between 2008 and 2024, during which he netted 85 goals and captained the side from 2014 to 2017.
Since hanging up his stick, Holt has built a distinguished coaching career, guiding USA Field Hockey squads at the U‑21, U‑16 and U‑18 levels and earning his Level 3 certification in 2022.
A Strategic Addition for the Program
Holt’s international background, which includes stints in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and England, equips him with a global perspective that aligns with the Hoosiers’ ambition to compete at the highest level.
Beyond the field, he holds a master’s degree in Athletic Administration and a bachelor’s in Health and Human Performance from the University of Louisville, underscoring his commitment to holistic player development.
