William Byron to Replace Kyle Larson in Pocono NASCAR Race

The No. 88 Chevrolet will run under Byron this Saturday as the series heads into its final O'Reilly Auto Parts event.

JR Motorsports announced that William Byron will take over the No. 88 Chevrolet for the upcoming MillerTech Battery 250 at Pocono Raceway, stepping in for Kyle Larson this Saturday.

Larson has been filling in for Alex Bowman after the driver’s vertigo‑related absence, and his recent performances include a win at Las Vegas and a fourth‑place finish at Darlington.

The race is scheduled for June 13 and will be streamed live on the CW Network, marking the final O'Reilly Auto Parts Series start for Byron before the postseason.

Byron enters the event after a solid start to the season, having finished 13th at Phoenix and sixth at Kansas, and he will be looking to add a strong result to his résumé.

Rajah Caruth, currently 13th in the points standings, is slated to assume the No. 88 ride for the remainder of the year after the Indy race, beginning at Iowa Speedway in August.

The move also reflects a broader schedule reshuffle among Hendrick Motorsports drivers, with Chase Elliott slated for two additional starts later this summer at Chicagoland and Indianapolis.

Fans can expect a competitive showing at Pocono, where the No. 88 team sits second in the owner standings and could benefit from a strong finish as the playoffs approach.
