Troy University’s men’s basketball program has announced the addition of Willie Piggott Jr. to its 2026‑27 roster, a move that head coach Adam Howard says will inject toughness, competitive fire and positional flexibility into the team.
Piggott arrives after a standout prep career that began at Arizona Compass Prep, where his squad secured the No. 1 seed in the Chipotle Nationals tournament, and continued at Tampa Catholic High School in Florida. There, he capped his junior year by surpassing the 1,000‑point mark and earned District 3A Player of the Year honors for the 2024‑25 season, along with All‑County recognition.
Howard highlighted Piggott’s versatility, noting that the freshman can operate in multiple roles and bring a relentless work ethic that aligns with the program’s ambitions.
A deepening roster
Piggott will join a mix of transfers and newcomers that includes Robert Davis Jr., Jacoi Hutchinson, Romain Valakou and Tucker Wadsworth, while returning players such as Kerrington Kiel, Evan Griffin, Emmanuel Clarton and Hikaru Awata provide continuity. The blend of experience and fresh talent aims to keep Troy competitive in the upcoming season.
