Wilsonville Baseball Earns All‑State Honors
The Wilsonville baseball team capped a successful 2026 spring campaign with a wave of statewide recognition, as five of its players were selected for the Class 5A all‑state squads. The honors reflect a season marked by strong performances across the lineup and a deep pool of talent that helped the team compete at a high level.
Junior outfielder Gabe Cruz led the group, earning a second‑team all‑state nod after delivering a standout year at the plate and in the field. His contributions helped anchor the team’s offense and provided a spark that translated into several key victories.
Junior shortstop Evan Eagle also received third‑team honors, underscoring his defensive reliability and steady bat throughout the schedule. Eagle’s consistency at a demanding position made him a cornerstone of the team’s infield.
Senior pitcher Jack Rader was similarly recognized on the third team, capping his high school career with a season that featured a low ERA and a series of dominant outings. Rader’s experience and poise on the mound were cited as major factors in the team’s pitching staff’s overall effectiveness.
Junior outfielder Carson Zellick earned an honorable mention, a testament to his speed and clutch hitting that added depth to the lineup. Though not selected for a full team, his impact was felt in several close games where his contributions swung the momentum.
Senior pitcher Grady Weise also received an honorable mention, rounding out a group of players whose collective efforts kept Wilsonville competitive in a crowded conference. Their recognitions highlight the program’s depth and the bright futures that lie ahead for each of these athletes.
