The Wilton High School football team is riding the momentum of two straight trips to the State Semifinals at the UNI Dome, a milestone that has set the bar for the upcoming season and sparked excitement across the community.
A season of promise
Head coach Ryan Hetzler emphasizes consistent effort, hard work and solid coaching as the foundation for success, insisting that the program’s culture must continue to reflect those values as the new campaign begins.
Seniors Jenner Hoekstra and Bryer Putman, the first generation of Wilton players to experience the Dome’s electric atmosphere, have become the emotional engine for younger teammates, reminding them of what is possible when the team pushes together.
Chasing the first title
Their ultimate aim is to capture the school’s first state championship, a goal that has turned every practice into a step toward that elusive crown and has infused the locker room with a renewed sense of purpose.
The seniors’ leadership has sparked a culture of improvement, encouraging more students to join the program and raising expectations across the board as the team prepares to return to the Dome and write the next chapter of Wilton football.
