Windsor Jaguars Eye Playoff Resurgence
The Windsor High School football program finished the 2025 season with a 6‑5 record, tying for fourth place in the Redwood Empire Conference Adobe division and exiting the North Coast Section Division 2 playoffs in the opening round. Despite the modest win‑loss ledger, the team’s trajectory points toward a more competitive 2026 campaign.
Head coach DJ Sexton, now in his second year at the helm, returned with a roster of roughly 47 players, about 45 of whom attended offseason workouts consistently. The coaching staff has emphasized a balanced approach, aiming to navigate the rugged conference schedule that includes matchups against Eureka, Rancho Cotate and Marin Catholic.
A key factor in the optimism is the return of senior quarterback Carter Vose III, who amassed over 2,000 passing yards and 18 touchdowns last season. Complementing him is senior wide receiver Blayke Ferronato, the division’s top receiver with more than 900 yards and five scores. Their chemistry should provide a potent aerial threat.
The offense also welcomes back junior Riley Nowlin and several senior linemen — Jeremiah Harrison, Jax Lagourgue and Remy Lagourgue — while newcomers Larson Wall and Will Jackson add depth. Defensively, the line benefits from three returning starters, giving the unit increased size and experience.
Coach Sexton expressed confidence that the strengthened depth and commitment will allow the Jaguars to handle the competitive league and pursue a deeper playoff run. With a blend of veteran talent and fresh arms, the team hopes to translate early-season progress into postseason success.
