The Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association has unveiled its 2026 all‑state and all‑district teams, a roster that puts a spotlight on several standout athletes from the Journal Sentinel coverage area.
State Players of the Year
Four players earned the distinction of state player of the year across the WIAA’s divisions, each representing the pinnacle of high school baseball performance in the state. Jace Mataczynski, Dominic Santarelli, Ira Hilbelink and Dawson Luther were each crowned state players of the year in their respective divisions.
District player of the year honors were also announced for the All‑Metro and Southeast Districts. Jon Murkowski of Germantown received the All‑Metro honor, while Maddux Lessard of Muskego, Cooper Sievert of Wisconsin Lutheran and Cayden Burtness of Pewaukee were recognized in the Southeast District.
All‑State Selections
The complete all‑state lists, spanning first, second and third teams as well as honorable mentions, were released alongside the individual awards. Journal Sentinel area athletes appear prominently on those rosters, with many names bolded to draw attention to their contributions.
The recognition underscores the depth of talent emerging from the region and sets a competitive tone for the upcoming season, as coaches and players alike celebrate these achievements.
