A Commitment That Signals Future Growth
The University of Wisconsin’s football program received a boost this week as Darin Graham, a 6‑foot‑5, 218‑pound edge rusher from Chicago, announced his commitment to the Badgers. The consensus three‑star prospect chose Madison over a slate of Power Five suitors, including Ole Miss, Kentucky, Georgia Tech and Kansas State, and he also turned down a direct overture from the rival Golden Gophers.
Coaches have highlighted his length, wingspan and ability to disengage from blocks quickly, traits that could make him a disruptive force on the defensive line. While he will need to add mass and work on dropping into coverage, the staff sees him as a high‑upside pickup who could see action by his second year in Madison.
Graham will join fellow edge commit Isaac Miller, a Waukesha native, as the second edge prospect in the class, underscoring the Badgers’ aggressive pursuit of talent along the line. His arrival adds depth to a unit that has been rebuilding after recent departures.
The commitment also carries a personal connection to the program: Graham follows in the footsteps of current Badger tailback Darrion Dupree, having graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, the same alma mater that produced several recent Wisconsin standouts.
