Withings, the French connected health specialist, has announced a partnership with the Fédération Française de Basketball (FFBB) to become the official supplier of connected health devices for both the France men's and women's national basketball teams.
Under the agreement, the teams will be equipped with Withings' smart scales that track body composition throughout the season, providing coaches and athletes with continuous data on weight, muscle mass and fat percentage.
The collaboration leverages a suite of clinically validated tools, including the BodyScan 2, which uses advanced sensors to assess metabolic and cardiac risk factors before symptoms emerge, as well as blood pressure monitors and health trackers that integrate AI‑driven insights for personalized monitoring.
Withings' CEO Eric Carreel said the partnership reflects a shared ambition to push French excellence forward in both sport and health, noting that the integration of cutting‑edge health technology can help athletes optimise performance while also supporting everyday wellbeing.
Jean‑Pierre Hunckler, President of the FFBB, added that access to reliable, data‑rich health tools aligns with the federation’s goal of promoting prevention and gender‑balanced care across all levels of basketball participation.
Withings serves more than 15 million users worldwide, employing AI to deliver actionable health insights, while the FFBB oversees a membership of over 760,000 registered players, underscoring the broad reach of this initiative.
By combining elite sport with preventative health monitoring, the partnership aims to set a new standard for how connected devices can enhance athlete longevity and foster a culture of health among amateur players across France.
