Western Kentucky University announced the creation of the Lady Topper Legacy Club, a dedicated fundraising arm designed to bolster the university’s women’s basketball program and to provide a direct channel for supporters to invest in its future.
A Strategic Investment in Women’s Basketball
The initiative structures giving into six distinct tiers, ranging from modest contributions of $500 up to a $25,000 level, each earmarked to support specific aspects of the program such as facility enhancements, charter flights for away games, nutrition upgrades and other resources that improve the overall student‑athlete experience.
Head coach Greg Collins, who serves on the club’s advisory group, has publicly urged alumni, donors and community members to become involved, emphasizing that increased support can translate into competitive advantages on the national stage.
Collins highlighted that donations are allocated at the discretion of the coaching staff, allowing the program to prioritize needs as they arise and to invest strategically in recruiting, training and recovery infrastructure.
The launch of the Legacy Club reflects a broader push across collegiate athletics to diversify revenue streams and to give donors a tangible role in shaping the future of women’s sports, positioning WKU as a leader in advancing its women’s basketball ambitions.
