Western Kentucky University’s athletics department has announced the four individuals who will comprise its 2026 Hall of Fame class, a cohort that reflects decades of excellence across the university’s major sports.
Celebrating historic achievements
Angie Bradley, a track and field standout, captured national AUAW Women’s All‑America honors in the long jump in 1980 and still holds multiple indoor and outdoor records at WKU. Quarterback Brandon Doughty, who led the Hilltoppers to their first FBS conference championship in 2015, remains the program’s all‑time leader in several passing categories and earned MVP honors in two bowl victories. Jack Doyle, a tight end whose collegiate prowess earned him a spot on the WKU All‑Century Team, went on to a successful NFL career, highlighted by two Pro Bowl selections with the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. Finally, Matt Rice, a baseball powerhouse, set seven school records—including career hits and RBIs—while being a two‑time semifinalist for the Johnny Bench Award.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14, 2026, coinciding with Homecoming week. Attendees can look forward to a W‑Club Homecoming Brunch followed by a halftime recognition on the field during the football game against Jacksonville State.
Tickets for the event will be offered at a reduced rate for W‑Club members, with general admission available to the public, ensuring that fans and alumni alike can share in the celebration of these pioneering athletes.
Since the Hall of Fame’s inception in 1991, a total of 180 former athletes and coaches have been enshrined, underscoring the enduring impact of WKU’s sporting heritage. The 2026 class joins a distinguished lineage of individuals who have shaped the university’s competitive identity.
The ceremony will be open to the public, allowing the broader community to witness the recognition of these trailblazers whose contributions continue to inspire future generations of Hilltoppers.
