Wolfpack Stars Earn Preseason All-ACC Honors Ahead of 2026 Season

Eight NC State players receive Phil Steele recognition, highlighted by Spike Sowells and CJ Bailey

North Carolina State’s football program received a boost this week when Phil Steele’s preseason All‑ACC team listed eight Wolfpack athletes, underscoring the depth of talent returning for the 2026 campaign.

The honors span both sides of the ball, with senior center Spike Sowells earning a second‑team nod at center and quarterback CJ Bailey securing a third‑team spot under center.

Offensive Line and Quarterback Lead the Charge

Offensive tackle Jimarion McCrimon was placed on the fourth team, while transfer lineman Harvey Dyson, who arrived from Tulane University, also made the fourth‑team defense as a defensive standout.

The defensive backfield will feature cornerback Brian Nelson on the third team, and linebacker Popo Aguirre, in his rookie season with the Pack, earned a fourth‑team berth at linebacker.

Special‑teams contributors Duke Scott and Victor Snow were recognized on the third team as kick returner and punt returner respectively, and Coach Dave Doeren announced that Scott will don the coveted No. 1 jersey this fall.

The selections reflect a blend of experience and fresh talent, setting high expectations for the Wolfpack as they aim to contend in the ACC and beyond.
