North Carolina State’s baseball program has unveiled its fall 2026 exhibition schedule, a compact slate that pits the Wolfpack against four familiar rivals.
A legacy in transition
After three decades at the helm, longtime skipper Elliott Avent stepped aside, handing the reins to longtime lieutenant Chris Hart, who brings 22 years of experience to the top job.
Fall matchups on the horizon
The Wolfpack will open with a home contest against Appalachian State on September 25 at Dail Park in Raleigh, followed by a neutral‑site showdown with North Carolina on October 16 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The remainder of the schedule includes a series against Duke and a meeting with Liberty, dates and venues still to be finalized.
The 2026 season also marked a milestone, with the Wolfpack securing a 32‑24 overall record and a 14‑16 conference slate, earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year.
Recent results include a 21‑12 loss to Duke in the opening game of the ACC Tournament and a 7‑5 defeat at the hands of Liberty in a midweek meeting on March 31, 2026, underscoring the competitive nature of the exhibition circuit.
With Hart now at the helm and a roster eager to build on recent successes, the Wolfpack hope to translate early‑season experiments into a strong spring campaign that could extend their streak of NCAA Tournament appearances.
