Woodland High School Baseball Team Finishes Undefeated Season with League Honors

Coach Danny Eoff celebrates a flawless Golden Empire League run and a host of postseason awards after a narrow title‑game loss

The Woodland High School baseball team capped an extraordinary campaign by finishing the regular season unbeaten, posting an 18‑0 record in the Golden Empire League and securing a berth in the CIF Sac‑Joaquin Section Division 5 championship game.

League Honors and Team Accolades

Although the Wolves fell 8‑4 to Wheatland in the title match, the loss did little to tarnish a season that saw them dominate league play from the outset and showcase a blend of senior leadership and sophomore spark.

League honors followed, with sophomores Cohen Dwyer and Riley Salvemini sharing the Co‑MVP award. Dwyer led the offense with a .525 batting average, 49 runs and 53 hits, while also posting a 2.81 ERA on the mound. Salvemini anchored the pitching staff with a 0.79 ERA, eight wins and 96 strikeouts.

Additional recognitions highlighted the breadth of talent on the roster. Seniors Dylan Ramirez, Dylan Johns and David Tanner, together with junior Ruger Hays, earned first‑team all‑league selections. Ramirez batted .321 with 28 runs and 17 RBI and was praised for Gold Glove‑caliber defense; Johns hit .329 with 25 runs and 21 RBI while posting a 2.47 ERA; Tanner contributed a .247 average, 16 runs and 24 RBI and went 6‑1 on the mound with a 2.98 ERA. Hays led the team in stolen bases with 29 and batted .304.

Second‑team all‑league nods went to senior Trevor Zane and junior PJ Pinegar, while sophomore Jesus Cosio paced the squad with 36 RBI and a .304 average. Coach Danny Eoff lauded the team’s resilience, noting the blend of senior leadership and sophomore spark that defined their run.

The coaching staff also included Miles Eoff, who supported Danny Eoff throughout the season, and the broader group of contributors such as Carlos Vazquez, Nate Gutierrez, Eli Rogelstad, Israel Montes, Aiden Lopez, and others who helped shape the squad’s depth.
